At SellerBuddy, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page provides clear instructions on how to delete your data from our platform. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to certain legal and business requirements.

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have downloaded any important data before proceeding with deletion.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request data deletion, the following information will be permanently removed:

Account Information

  • Personal details (name, email, phone number)
  • Business information and shop details
  • Account preferences and settings
  • Login credentials and authentication data

Order and Customer Data

  • All order records and customer information
  • WhatsApp conversation history
  • Customer images and personalization requests
  • Order screenshots and OCR-processed data

Usage and Analytics Data

  • Platform usage statistics
  • Feature interaction data
  • Performance and error logs
  • Device and browser information

Data That May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained for legal, regulatory, or business purposes:

  • Billing Records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax laws
  • Legal Compliance: Data required for ongoing legal proceedings
  • Fraud Prevention: Information necessary to prevent fraudulent activities
  • Aggregated Analytics: Anonymized data that cannot identify you personally

This retained data will be anonymized where possible and deleted once the retention period expires.

How to Request Data Deletion

Method 1: Self-Service Account Deletion

  1. Log in to your SellerBuddy dashboard
  2. Navigate to Settings → Account Settings
  3. Scroll down to the "Delete Account" section
  4. Click "Request Account Deletion"
  5. Confirm your identity by entering your password
  6. Review the deletion confirmation and click "Delete My Account"

Note: Self-service deletion is available for accounts without pending payments or active disputes.

Method 2: Email Request

Send an email to our data protection team:

Include the following information:

  • Full name associated with the account
  • Email address used for registration
  • Phone number linked to the account
  • Reason for deletion (optional)
  • Confirmation that you understand the deletion is permanent

Method 3: WhatsApp Request

Send a message to our WhatsApp support:

Message: "I want to delete my SellerBuddy account and all associated data"

Provide:

  • Your registered email address
  • Phone number used for the account
  • Confirmation of your identity

Verification Process

To protect your account security, we will verify your identity before processing deletion requests:

  • Email verification from your registered email address
  • SMS verification to your registered phone number
  • Security questions or account-specific information
  • Government ID verification (for high-value accounts)

Processing Timeline

Standard Processing Time: 30 Days

We will process your deletion request within 30 days of verification. You will receive email confirmation once the deletion is complete.

Processing Steps

  1. Day 1-3: Identity verification and request validation
  2. Day 4-7: Account review for pending obligations
  3. Day 8-21: Data deletion from primary systems
  4. Day 22-28: Backup and archive cleanup
  5. Day 29-30: Deletion confirmation and final verification

Before You Delete

Important Considerations

  • Download any important order data or customer information
  • Cancel active subscriptions to avoid future charges
  • Complete any pending orders or customer commitments
  • Export conversation history if needed for business records
  • Settle any outstanding payments or disputes

Data Export Options

Before deletion, you can export your data:

  • Dashboard Export: Download order history and customer data
  • API Access: Use our API to export data programmatically
  • Support Request: Contact support for custom data exports

Partial Deletion Options

If you don't want to delete your entire account, you can request partial data deletion:

  • Order History: Delete specific orders or date ranges
  • Customer Data: Remove specific customer information
  • Conversation History: Delete WhatsApp chat records
  • Images and Files: Remove uploaded images and documents

Third-Party Data

Some data may be stored with third-party services. We will coordinate deletion with:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication data
  • WhatsApp Business API: Message history and media
  • Oracle Cloud: OCR processing logs and cached images
  • Payment Processors: Transaction records (subject to retention requirements)

Note: Some third-party services may have their own retention policies for compliance purposes.
